YANA - YOU ARE NOT ALONE NOW

PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORT SITE

BRONZE

Roy Jorgensen and Darleen live in California, USA. He was 82 when he was diagnosed on September 5, 2006. His initial PSA was 35.0 ng/ml, he does not know his Gleason Score or his staging, although it seems from the narrative that and he would have been staged T1c. His choice of treatment was Orchiectomy the removal of his testicles - essentially physical ADT (Androgen Deprivation Therapy). Here is his story.

After a lot of confusion on the part of my urologist, who told me "You do not have prostate cancer!" three times, my PSA jumped up to 35 from 5 in a few months. He is a good guy, a friend, he decided to do 12 needles biopsy. My prostate was full of cancer; he suggested hormones,

How long will I live with hormone therapy, umm, 2 or 3 years; I had read all of the urology and prostate cancer books in our big library, maybe seven books, and PC websites; three urologists wrote that "Orchiectomy is the 'Gold Standard' of prostate cancer cures"

So, wife and I [I am now 84] decided that we wanted orchiectomy (the surgical removal of the testicles). He was delighted to do it, and my PSA has subsided from 35 to less than 1. Impotence? Not completely, I can use a VED (Vacuum Erectile Device) and get an erection hard enough to go into my wife easily; she has given me two good orgasms by fellatio, I can masturbate her clitoris with my penis plugged in.

We are very happy with the results of the ORCHIECTOMY. I am "in remission" which means I have the prospect of not dying from prostate cancer; my heart is strong, diet excellent, we are cheerful, we live atop a hill so walking is great exercise; I am a novelist-songsmith-singer; I sing my original songs in a few clubs to 30ish people, smiling, pretty women and their men; we are happy; despite occasional spats, not enough gigs, little things.

Try orchiectomy! It is great.

Later: When I had the orchiectomy, I went quickly into remission...but loss of all the testosterone made me dazed during the day. I am a writer, songsmith-singer, so I asked my osteopath for Dexedrine [Dextrostatt]. He researched it, prescribed 5mg/day and my pep returned...since then I have written 3 novels, 1 play, several songs; and I sing frequently in a 'singer's club'. The Dexedrine does not overstimulate me...peps up my mind...as above

Later: I am a singer-songwriter. Like Democritus, c400BCE, I believe that cheerfulness is the highest etical principle; so I wrote an R & B song, "Cheerfulness"

INTRO:

Cheerfulness is powerful!

Activates health- happiness

like sunshine activates green leaves

never underestimate the power of cheerfulness

it's so good we need it bad!

VERSE 1:

Charles Darwin wrote

that happiness definitely prevails in human nature

All sentient beings have developed by NATURAL SELECTION so that happiness is our natural GUIDE

without Happiness we would not have survived

VERSE 2:

Habitual melancholy, sadness, fear, & anger

is like jogging in quicksand

one step forward

two steps down

'til we're underground

activating cheerfulness, with friends & family

pulls us out of quicksand

puts us on firm ground!

VERSE 3:

We all know that life can be very painful, very depressing

we see tragedies galore

personal, natural, political, war

global warming

but habitual cheerfulness activates health-happiness

helps us to survive, strive, & thrive.
